Overview of Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists are health professionals who are trained to assist people to overcome limitations caused by injury or illness, psychological or emotional difficulties, developmental delay or the effects of ageing. Occupational Therapists are trained to assess the physical and psychological aspects of illness and injury, and can therefore look at how the illness or injury affects an individual, in all aspects of their life.
An Occupational Therapist might treat you in a hospital, your home environment, or your workplace. Visit our “Find an OT” section on the right of this page for assistance with finding an Occupational Therapist in your area.
